ROUNDABOUT NOW PROPOSED AS SOLUTION TO EMYVALE ROAD SAFETY ISSUES
The members of the Monaghan Municipal District were informed on Monday that Transport Infrastructure Ireland no longer considered a speed discrimination traffic lights system as the solution to road safety issues being experienced in the village of Emyvale. TII had instructed Monaghan Co Council to proceed with plans for a roundabout instead, a report before the meeting stated.
The report said: “Monaghan Co Council, on advice from TII, have been in contact with Transport Scotland (TS) to obtain data on the effectiveness of a Speed Discrimination Traffic Lights System that they are trialling on the entrance to a town in Scotland.
