ARRESTS MADE IN RELATION TO CLONES ROAD FATALITY
Gardaí last week arrested and questioned two men in relation to a fatal road traffic collision in Clones earlier in the year which claimed the lives of two teenage girls. The fatality occurred on the N54 at Legnakelly on July 31 and resulted in the deaths of 17-year-old Kiea McCann and 16-year-old Dlava Mohamed. The young women, both from Clones town and close friends, were on their way to a debs function. The men, one aged in their 40s and the other in their 60s, were arrested as part of the ongoing Garda investigation into the incident. They were detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act and questioned at a Garda Station before being released. The Gardaí said that a file was now being prepared for submission to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
