SPUDFEST HOST SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH FOR 2023 EVENT

Spudfest 2023 held a successful launch event in Monaghan Shopping Centre last Friday 21st April as final preparations for this years festival are in full swing. Spudfest is Monaghan’s Alternative Music Festival promoting mental health awareness, suicide prevention and is named in honour of Jason “Spud” Mc Elvaney RIP to mark the anniversary of his untimely passing.

This year the festival activities begin at 3pm on Saturday 29th April in McKenna’s Bar on Dublin Street with a family fun themed day of activities, entertainment and something for everyone from charity headshaves, carnival games, face painting, open mic performances mingled with great musical entertainment throughout the day showcasing local talent and visitors from further afield. There will be results of the very popular “Drop into Drag Competition”, and Fundraising Raffle which has been so hugely supported and contributed to by local businesses.
