CLONES ROAD FATALITY

The Gardaí have launched an information appeal following a fatal road traffic accident in the Clones area on Saturday evening last, April 8. A female pedestrian in her 70s was struck by a vehicle at around 10.45 pm on the Newbliss Road at Clonavilla. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Gardaí in Monaghan have appealed for any witnesses to the accident to come forward. They have asked motorists who were travelling on the R183 Newbliss Road between 10-11 pm on Saturday and who may have camera or dash-cam footage that could be of assistance to make this available to them.
