In the week when the important Irish saint Brigid is being celebrated, an exhibition has opened at the National Gallery in Dublin focusing on the life of St Dympna, the legendary 6th or 7th century saint with integral associations with the Tydavnet area of North Monaghan. Pictured from left at the exhibition launch on Friday last are Peadar Ó Lamhna of the Tydavnet committee which has forged twinning links with Geel in Belgium, also closely associated with Dympna; Alderman Nadine Laeremans from Geel; Monaghan Co Council Cathaoirleach Councillor Seán Conlon, and Alderman Pieter Cowé of the Geel twinning body.
