OVER €1.4 MILLION IN TOWN AND VILLAGE FUNDING FOR MONAGHAN

Minister for Rural and Community Development and Cavan/Monaghan TD Heather Humphreys announced over €1.4 million in funding for projects in Co Monaghan under her Department’s Town and Village Renewal Scheme yesterday, Wednesday. Minister humphreys said this was a record level of investment that would “breathe new life into communities in the county with a huge focus on community spaces, walking tracks and outdoor amenities”.

Ballinode received the maximum level of investment of €500,000. this will see the construction of a new purpose- built community centre in the centre of the village. the new building will accommodate a function hall including a stage, a kitchen and three meeting rooms. Ballybay received an investment of €194,570. this will see the upgrade and provision of new play equipment and landscaping at Corrybrennan Park. Smithboro received funding of €147,545. this will see the construction of a walking track with lighting around the Éire Óg na Mullaí GAA playing and astro-facilities at railway Park. newbliss received €50,000 to put in place the necessary plans to turn a local…
