MONAGHAN FIRM IS APPRENTICESHIP EMPLOYER OF THE YEAR

Monaghan agri-business firm McAree Engineering, based at Quiglough, Ballinode, were crowned a Generation Apprenticeship Employer of the Year at a ceremony in Dublin this week by Simon Harris, Minister for Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science. The Generation Apprenticeship awards aim to recognise and celebrate the work carried out by outstanding apprentice employers in driving employment, economic and social growth.

The theme selected for this year’s award was leadership at pioneering micro and small companies plus diversity in the workplace. This year, 83 companies were nominated who are passionate about apprenticeship as a source of talent and skills. McAree Engineering were honoured for their focus on the diversity of apprenticeships they offer and he diverse mix of the team currently undertaking apprenticeship programmes with them.

“We are delighted to be recognised for our apprenticeships approach,” Operations Director Vincent McAree told the Northern Standard. “They are an important part of our Training Academy and we are delighted to receive this stamp of approval.
