BORDER ROAD ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE OF NOTED MUSICIAN
A well-known musician was killed in a road traffic accident close to the Border at Middletown, Co Armagh on Monday last. Twenty-eight-year-old Barry Mohan, from Aughnacloy, lost his life in the collision, which occurred on the Monaghan Road. The guitarist was a member of the All Folk’d Up band and was a well-known performer at live music events across the Border region.
“Barry was an integral part of the band’s success and brother of lead singer Pauric. His energy and enthusiasm was always evident on stage and will be sadly missed on the local music scene” stated a social media post by the Rising PR agency. “We have worked with Barry over the last number of years, and it was apparent that his talent, his professionalism on and off stage, his love for music, and his drive and determination for the band was always there with a smile on his face.
“We extend our deepest sympathy to Pauric, his mother Marina, his daughter Céala Rose and fellow band members Ryan, Paddy and Szymon and his entire family circle.” Many of Mr Mohan’s fellow musicians have also paid tribute and extended condolences to his family. The PSNI are investigating the collision and have appealed for information
