The Castle Leslie Estate in Glaslough has scooped the accolade for Ireland’s Leading Boutique Hotel at the prestigious 2022 World Travel Awards. Government and industry leaders, luminaries and the international print and broadcast media assembled at the new Hilton Mallorca Galatzo in Spain for the gala awards announcement ceremony. Castle Leslie Estate CEO Brian Baldwin said he couldn’t be more proud of the win. “To achieve this award is a fantastic achievement,” Mr Baldwin stated. “The team at Castle Leslie is what makes all this happen. Without their hard work and their commitment to each and every guest to make their experience magical, this simply would not happen. Sincere thanks to everyone who voted for us.”

A media release added: The World Travel Awards (WTA) was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the tourism industry. Today, the WTA brand is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of quality, with winners setting the benchmark to which all others aspire. Each year, WTA covers the globe with a series of regional gala ceremonies staged to reward and celebrate individual and collective success within each key geographical region. Nestled on 1,000 acres of undulating Irish countryside, dotted with ancient woodlands and glittering lakes, Castle Leslie Estate is one of the last great Irish estates still in the hands of its founding family.

The Leslie Family arrived in Ireland in the 16th Century and bought the Estate at that time. Today, this Irish estate is led and managed by Sammy Leslie and governed by a Family Trust. The family considers itself to be guardians of the land, and their overwhelming desire is to protect the Estate for future generations. Located in Glaslough, Co Monaghan, Castle Leslie Estate is just 80 minutes from Dublin and 60 minutes from Belfast. Following extensive restoration over the past two decades, the family has transformed the Estate to its original glory. Today, this beautiful Irish estate boasts a variety of accommodation, dining options and a diverse range of on and off-site activities.
