MONAGHAN ANTHEM WINNER TO BE REVEALED AT GALA MAY DAY EVENT

The winning entry in the Entekra-sponsored Monaghan Anthem international song contest will be revealed at a gala May Day event in Monaghan’s Four Seasons Hotel on Sunday May 1 next. The much-anticipated reveal will be a highlight of a Showcase Monaghan event that will be “an occasion of great pride and anticipation”, organiser Liz McGuinness of Mad About Monaghan told the Northern Standard this week.

“Showcase Monaghan will be a special night of celebration of many great individuals, entrepreneurs and industry leaders who have made a significant positive impact on the life of many over the past decades,” Liz stated. Out of the entry of 47 songs bidding for Anthem selection, six finalists have been chosen, three of them from Co Monaghan: Sean Hughes, Henry McMahon (with Declan Nerney) and the O’Leary Clan.
