Rossmore Forest Park in Monaghan Town is now the most visited Coillte public park in the country. News of Rossmore’s “green jersey” status as a visitor attraction arrived with perfect timing last Thursday as the new Family Cycle Trail at the amenity was officially opened by Cavan/Monaghan TD and Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys.

Minister Humphreys’ Department and the Monaghan Municipal District have devoted combined funding in excess of €360,000 to the enhancement of the park’s off-road cycling loop, with Emyvale Cycling Club and Cycling Ireland having influential stakeholder input to its design features.
