WORTHY CAUSES SUPPORTED BY MONAGHAN BUSINESS GROUP
On Saturday March 26 the BNI Rossmore Chapter, a business networking group based in Monaghan, held a 5 km challenge to raise funds for two very worthy causes: SOSAD and the David Cassidy fund. David, who is from Clones and now living in New York, suffered life-changing injuries in an accident last December. His resilience as he undergoes rehabilitation is an inspiration to all who come into contact with him.
Chapter members, friends and families gathered in Rossmore Forest Park to walk and run the 5 km route. The sun shone. Some ‘personal best’ running times were achieved. Tea, coffee and sticky buns were the rewards at the finish line. To date the amount raised is €3,045. The final total will be divided equally between the two causes to support SOSAD’s vital work and to contribute to David’s ongoing medical expenses.
David’s brother Niall joined the group for the big cheque handover, to share updates on David’s progress and to gather stories to relay back to New York. BNI chapter members, SOSAD and David’s team are very grateful for the very generous support from the community.
