MONAGHAN CO COUNCIL GETS €15.8 MILLION TO SPEND ON REGIONAL AND LOCAL ROADS
An allocation to Monaghan Co Council of €15,868,600 was announced when 2022 funding for the country’s regional and national roads was unveiled by the Government this week. The Monaghan allocation contains €7,269,000 for restoration improvement, €1,121,500 for restoration maintenance and €881,000 for supplementary restoration maintenance.
The discretionary grant figure is €2,070,500 and there is a €1,150,000 specific improvement grant. A €500,000 allocation is being made available to the Monaghan local authority to continue its pilot scheme work on the use of reclaimed asphalt in road repairs. €788,500 has been provided for bridge rehabilitation works, while €262,000 will be spent on safety improvement works. €100,000 is available for strategic regional and local roads while a total of €29,370 has been provided for speed limit signage.
