The very early evidence of the first round – which produced one-point wins for Monaghan and Armagh and a draw between Roscommon and Tyrone – suggested a close campaign was in store, but Sunday’s results point towards a twotier split within the Allianz National Hurling League Division 3A. The comprehensive manner of the second-round wins for Armagh, Roscommon and Tyrone suggest that those three teams will be duking it out for promotion, most likely leaving Monaghan, Louth and Warwickshire to battle to stay in the division.
