The snow clouds that loomed over Co Monaghan last Friday has a silver lining for Norris family members Lindsey, Hannah and Vicki. With school transport disrupted, they were left with an unexpectedly free day to enjoy the seasonal conditions and made the most of it as our photograph by Rory Geary shows. Wintry conditions were reported across most parts of the county through last Thursday night and into the early part of Friday, when a yellow snow and ice warning was in force for the county. Some traffic disruption ensued, with motorists using minor and secondary roads urged to be particularly cautious. However, no significant road traffic incidents were recorded.
