A Clones man is currently undergoing specialist treatment in hospital following a serious accident at a New York subway station a month ago in which he lost both his legs. David Cassidy, aged 33, is a former student of St Macartan’s College in Monaghan and NUI Galway. He went to live in Woodside in the Queen’s area eight years ago and works as a project manager for a construction company. His family has now set up a GoFundMe appeal in order to raise up to €250,000 for his medical and other expenses. Launched a week ago, it has already reached almost half its target.

See story in Clones News p.27 with details of the GoFundMe appeal.
