RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta will broadcast a special programme about Ógie Ó Dufaigh as part of its Christmas schedule this year, on Monday 3 January at 11 am. Ógie died tragically in a car accident in July 2021, hours after captaining the Under 20s Monaghan team to victory in the Ulster football final. In the programme Ógie on January 3rd, his father Brendan speaks to RnaG broadcaster Michelle Nic Grianna about his son. Brendan shares the heartbreaking story of that day, which went from the elation of the U20 win, to the shock and devastation that followed the car crash in which Ógie was killed. He talks about their family life, their connection with Rann na Feirste in Co. Donegal, Ógie’s passions and his character, and how the family got to know him anew through the stories people shared with them after his death. The documentary entitled Ógie will be broadcast on RTÉ Raidió na Gaeltachta on Monday 3 January at 11 am. You can listen back after the broadcast at www.rte.ie/rnag
