The latest adjusted figures for Covid cases show that the incidence rate in County Monaghan per 100,000 population over fourteen days shows a small change but the county remains in the middle of the national table. The statistics released on Tuesday by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre show that the rate in the past fortnight up until midnight on Monday was 1168, compared to a figure of 1010 reported last week.

This includes 717 (+97) reported cases of Covid-19 out of a national total of 62,711. In September Monaghan was topping the table. The overall incidence rate of Covid-19 in Ireland is now 1316.9 for every 100,000 of population. Monaghan has dropped one place to fourteenth in the list of 26 counties in the Republic. Daily figures for Monday from the HSE Department of Public Health North East reported 72 new Covid cases in Monaghan, compared to 313 in Louth (rising numbers in Drogheda), 207 in Meath and 51 in Cavan.
