TIME FOR TRUTH RALLY IN MONAGHAN HEARS CRITICISM OF BRITISH GOVERNMENT “TROUBLES AMNESTY” PLANS

Family members of those killed in the 1974 Dublin and Monaghan bombing were among the large gathering at the forecourt of Monaghan Courthouse on Saturday afternoon last in support of the Time for Truth campaign which is opposed to proposals by the British Government which would see an effective amnesty for those responsible for serious criminal acts during the period of the Northern Ireland Troubles.

The Monaghan event was one of a series which took place across the country at the weekend. It heard calls on the British Government to abandon proposals announced by Secretary of State for Northern Ireland Brandon Lewis MP in July which canvass the introduction of a statute of limitations for prosecutions.
