MONAGHAN FACING SIGNIFICANT LOSS OF PARKING SPACES AS ALDI REQUESTS CO COUNCIL TO VACATE MCNALLY’S SITE

Monaghan Co Council has been requested to vacate the McNally’s car park site in the centre of Monaghan Town by the retail group Aldi who are the owners of the property. The local authority had continued to lease the location for car-parking purposes from Aldi after the business acquired it a number of years ago with the intention of developing a retail premises on the site. But it was announced by the Co Council this week that from September 30 the car park would no longer be operated by them and would be closed.
