RESIDENTS AND COMMUNITY ALERT GROUP DEMAND ANSWERS AND CLARITY ABOUT ACTIVITY AT MAST IN KILLYGOAN

There has been a flurry of recent activity at the Mast in the Killygoan area over the past 8 weeks. 6 different vans parked from early morning to late evening with numerous workers doing unknown works. This activity has created much suspicion, worry and concern what all this activity is for and what is the potential impact on the over 450 residents of the area will be in the future. A spokesperson for the Community Alert Group stated “The tower is owned by the ESB but we do not know what all these antennae, devices and communications systems are on the tower, or what work was going on there for weeks. Are they in violation of planning regulations? Do they have proper planning approval for such works?”

The spokesperson continued “Our concerns are that problems with recent mast proposals in Rossmore Park area, Emyvale and Glaslough could be being dealt with by all this work at the mast in Killygoan. The lack of communication from these communications companies is not acceptable and they should be letting us know what they are putting up in our area”. The spokesperson concluded “The residents and Community Alert Group have legitimate and very serious concerns about the health & safety impact of this mast on the people and the area.
