RENEWED INVESTIGATIVE EFFORTS IN PAUL QUINN CASE WELCOMED BY FAMILY
Garda detectives from Carrickmacross joined with members of the PSNI’s major investigation team last week in a renewed investigative initiative into the murder at Oram in Castleblayney in 2007 of 21-year-old Cullyhanna man Paul Quinn. A number of addresses in the South Armagh area were visited during the joint operation. Mr Quinn was lured to a farm at Tullyvanus, Oram on October 20 2007 and subjected to a savage beating by a number of men who used iron bars.
The young man sustained multiple fractures and other serious injuries and subsequently died in hospital. Despite a long campaign by the Quinn family, no one has ever been charged in relation to his murder, which is believed to have been carried out by Republican paramilitaries.
