MONAGHAN CONTRACTORS AND SUPPLIERS ENCOURAGED TO ENGAGE IN PROCUREMENT PROCESS

Monaghan Co Council has called on contractors and materials suppliers in Co Monaghan to register to take part in procurement for the provision of services to the local authority and for participation in major capital projects that take place in the county. The call was reinforced by the elected membership of the Council when they met for their adjourned May meeting in the Garage Theatre in Monaghan on Monday morning. Councillors have been calling for some time for a greater dividend to be delivered to the local economy when major road and building projects take place in the county and for “social clauses” that would deliver such benefits to be incorporated in the contracts awarded.

Details of the tendering process for local businesses were outlined in the management report presented to the Council meeting.
