Monaghan have the luxury of some time to prepare for another testing Ulster derby in the Allianz National Hurling League Division 3A after their bid for an opening win in Omagh last Sunday was ruthlessly dismissed by a storming finish from a Damian Casey-inspired Tyrone side. Six-time Nickey Rackard All-Star Casey has often been a thorn in the side of Monaghan’s hurlers and after hitting 1-23 in two derby wins for Tyrone last year, he racked up 1-16 in his first competitive game of 2021.
