MOTORCYCLIST FATALLY INJURED AT CASTLEBLAYNEY ROUNDABOUT

A motorcyclist from Co Donegal sustained fatal injuries when his vehicle struck a roundabout in the Castleblayney area on Saturday afternoon last. Patrick McKinley, from Letterkenny, who was in his 40s, died after his motorcycle collided with the Drumcrew roundabout at the junction of the N2 and N52 near Tullyvin at around 5.10 pm. Mr McGinley was pronounced dead at the scene.

His body was taken to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Drogheda for a post mortem examination. The road was closed for a period to facilitate a Garda forensic collision investigation.
