RECORD TOWN VOUCHER SALES SHOW MONAGHAN PUBLIC SUPPORTED LOCAL BUSINESSES DURING HOLIDAY PERIOD

€844,370 were sold in November and December of last year, Monday’s meeting of the Monaghan Municipal District was informed. Co-ordinator Donal McElwain expressed the view that the record number of sales for the time of year was evidence that the local public had embraced the message to support local trade which had been the theme of a campaign by the Municipal District and the Monaghan Town Team retail support organisation.

Referring to the additional number of corporate Town Voucher sales that had been achieved, Mr McElwain paid tribute to the distribution outlets which he said had put in an extra effort this year with some even employing additional staff: Fleming’s Department Store, Monaghan Shopping Centre, Rocks of Monaghan, McConnon’s in Old Cross Square, G & G Stores of Emyvale and McMahon’s Centra in Scotstown.
