BETTER WI-FI NEEDED AT ROSSMORE PARK
Deficiencies in the mobile phone and wi-fi coverage available at the Rossmore Forest Park amenity were highlighted by Councillor Cathy Bennett at the October meeting of the Monaghan Municipal District. Welcoming the fact that there were plans to improve the service, Councillor Bennett said that people out walking in the middle of the park could get lost if they couldn’t get a proper signal. Improvements in this regard were also important for emergency services. Municipal District Coordinator Donal McElwain noted that the Gardaí and emergency services had keys to allow them to access Rossmore Park outside of its official hours of opening. The Co Council emergency number was also available on the Rossmore Park website. The Co-ordinator noted in his monthly report to the meeting that the consultants on the family cycle trail project in Rossmore Park had completed the preliminary work and the design was now in progress. Paudge Connolly (Independent) said this project would be very welcome. Municipal District Head John Murray said that people would be encouraged to cycle out to the park along the greenway.
