COUNTY MONAGHAN FIGURES REMAIN HIGH AS BOVINE TB SITUATION CONTINUES TO WORSEN – DEPARTMENT

Co Monaghan remains among the Irish counties experiencing higher levels of bovine TB as herd incidence of the disease reaches a point not experienced since 2012, the Department of Agriculture stated this week. Monaghan, and other northeast locations such as Cavan, Louth and Meath, are in the higher category for herd incidence, as are parts of Clare, Cork, Galway and Wicklow. This is despite the fact that a High Impact Bovine TB Control Plan has been in operation in Monaghan (as well as parts of Cavan, Meath, Louth, Westmeath, Offaly, Cork and Clare) for some time.
