CLOSE EYE TO BE KEPT ON PARKING IN ROSSMORE AFTER WEEKEND “MAYHEM”

Monaghan Municipal District are to hold a watching brief on car-parking arrangements and practices at Rossmore Forest Park after what was described at Monday’s meeting of the body as “mayhem” at the amenity last weekend. Referring to complaints that had surfaced on social media about the situation, Cathaoirleach Seamus Treanor (Independent) said he had visited the park himself the previous day and the parking of vehicles was “an absolute disgrace”.

He added that there was no way that an ambulance or fired brigade vehicle could have gained admittance to the park in the event of an emergency – the situation was “mayhem”. Cars were left on embankments and parked in front of other vehicles. “We are going….
