The Government announced this week that it had agreed the terms of reference and membership of the Future of Media Commission, which will address the challenges confronting newspaper and broadcast journalism in Ireland and focus on its development over the next decade. Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht Catherine Martin TD said that the Commission would have a role in addressing the “new and increased pressures” faced by traditional newspapers and broadcasters in a media landscape that had “changed dramatically” in recent years.
