Club championships continue
with teams hitting their stride

The group stages of the club football championships continue at pace, with round three down for decision this weekend. With an average winning margin of less than three points in the second round of games across the three grades last weekend, there have been a glut of close finishes, while just one team in each division have managed back-to-back victories to date.
Scotstown are the only team with two wins to their name in the Greenfield Foods SFC after they held off the challenge of Latton, while their next game is against a Carrickmacross side who started their campaign with a comfortable win over Castleblayney.
This Saturday’s game sees Tyrone man Mattie McGleenan, now in charge of the Emmets, return to Scotstown, who he led to an Ulster Club Final in 2015, and it will offer a chance to give a closer examination of Carrick’s credentials.
