INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP JUNIOR FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

Like the senior championship there are four games down for decision in this year’s intermediate football championship, two on Saturday afternoon, Monaghan Harps at home against Doohamlet in Gavan Duffy Park (4pm), and Emyvale taking on Killanny in St Oliver Plunkett Park (4pm).

MONAGHAN HARPS V DOOHAMLET: Doohamlet have a good record in the intermediate championship in recent times and having been relegated from senior ranks at the end of last year they would certainly come into the reckoning as strong contenders in this year’s intermediate series. The went out of the senior championship last year following defeats by Scotstown and Castleblayney, while Monaghan Harps, in the intermediate championship, started with an opening round victory over Sean McDermotts, followed by defeat to the eventual champions Magheracloone, recovered to defeat Killanny, but then lost out to Corduff after extra time…
