PREFERRED ROUTES FOR MAJOR N2 ROAD SCHEMES STILL UNDER CONSIDERATION

The preferred route options for the N2 Ardee to Castleblayney and Clontibret to the Border road schemes were still under consideration and no decision had yet been made in relation to them, Director of Services for Transportation Patricia Monahan informed Sinn Féin councillor Noel Keelan at Monday’s meeting of Monaghan Co Council.

Ms Monahan said that six route options were being considered for each of the two schemes. The monthly management report before the meeting said that consultants Jacobs were progressing with identification of an Emerging Preferred Route Corridor for each scheme, and planned this month to publish the postconsultation reports on the Route Corridor Options public consultation process.
