There is no doubt Covid-19 is playing havoc with life, not only in this country but across the world and with the lockdown continuing the ulster championship like a lot of other sporting competitions and occasions has been put on an indefinite hold. In normal circumstances this week we would be looking forward to the preliminary round of the Ulster Senior Football Championship with Monaghan taking on Cavan in St. Tiarnach’s Park for a place in the quarter- final against Fermanagh. the Ulster Championship signals the start of summer. May Day is a celebrated occasion and has been over the centuries as a very special day, and the start of the Championship always gave hope of both sunny days and the sound of leather striking….
