HUGE INTEREST IN VOLUNTEERING IN CO MONAGHAN DURING COVID-19 CRISIS

175 people with an interest in volunteering to help with the Covid-19 crisis have registered with Monaghan Volunteer Centre and new registrations continue to come in every day, the centre reported in a media release to the Northern Standard this week which continued: “These people are from all walks of life, from students to retired people. Some have been volunteering for years, others are thinking of volunteering for the first time.

“Monaghan Volunteer Centre, as part of Monaghan Integrated Development, has been working closely with Monaghan Co Council and other agencies involved in the Community Call helpline. The Volunteer Centre has set up a Covid-19 Shopping and Support project, with 30 volunteers ready to respond to calls for help. “Requests for help come mainly through the helpline, but also from other sources such as Monaghan Integrated Development’s Good Morning Monaghan phone call service for older or isolated people.
