Three men were arrested on Sunday by police in the North after a car was stopped by two PSNI Sergeants who spread a ‘stinger’ device across the road outside Aughnacloy in Co.Tyrone. The PSNI say they were investigating a theft in Aughnacloy following which the car occupants made off across the border into Co. Monaghan. Gardaí took up the chase and the car eventually headed back into the North, where it was brought to a halt.
The three suspects made off on foot but were arrested after a short chase, according to the PSNI. The alleged driver of the car was later charged with a number of driving offences and was due to appear at a court in Dungannon during the week.
