CO COUNCIL TO HEAR RECOMMENDATION ON NEW OFFICE DEVELOPMENT BEHIND CLOSED DOORS

Monaghan Co Council has decided to hold a briefing for its members in relation to the development of new local authority offices behind closed doors. Councillors will meet on the afternoon of Wednesday March 25th in committee to discuss a recommendation from its Office Accommodation Working Group.

At Monday’s March meeting of the local authority, Independent councillor Paudge Connolly expressed reservations about the subject of a new Co Council HQ being discussed in a non-public forum.

However, councillors who are part of the working group and officials of the local authority were at pains to stress that no decision would be taken on the matter at the in committee session and that the proposal would subsequently be discussed at a public meeting of the full Council.
