CARTHY PROMISES NEW ERA FOR PARENTS AND CHILDCARE SECTOR UNDER SF

Childcare and early education issues have taken centre stage in the last week of the General Election according to Sinn Féin’s Matt Carthy, who spoke to the Northern Standard ahead of attending a childcare protest in Dublin on Wednesday. The event, organised by the Early Years Alliance, was attended by groups like the Federation of Early Childhood Providers, the National Community Childcare Forum and SIPTU, was in response to years of underfunding and unsustainable demands on the sector.

Talking to the Northern Standard, Carthy highlighted the concerns raised with him on the campaign trail as well as the need for drastic action.
