It has been confirmed that an ambitious plan by Monaghan County Council to convert a former Council premises in Newbliss into a space for artists’ studios and residences in association with the Tyrone Guthrie Centre at nearby Annaghmakerrig has been put on hold. At the January meeting of the County Council, Acting Director of Corporate Services Cathal Flynn made a comprehensive presentation on the Capital Programme 2019-2021.

Councillors Pat Treanor (Sinn Féin) and Richard Truell (Fine Gael) asked for confirmation of what was going to happen to the former local authority’s area office in Newbliss.
