MINISTER ANNOUNCES ECONOMIC SUPPORTS TO HELP BUSINESSES DEAL WITH BREXIT

“If a Monaghan team can reach an all-Ireland football club final after losing their pitch, then I’m confident that by working together we can face the challenges of Brexit.” Outgoing Minister for Business, Enterprise and Innovation Heather Humphreys used the football analogy when she opened a special workshop for local businesses on coping with Brexit. The meeting at the Four Seasons Hotel in Monaghan town on Monday afternoon heard details of a €28 million enterprise fund being made available by Enterprise Ireland for projects in six border counties.

The special economic stimulus package which applies to counties Monaghan, Cavan, Donegal, Sligo, Leitrim, and Louth is designed to drive economic activity in the region and ensure that businesses have additional support in mitigating the impact of Brexit.
