TWO men were arrested in Co,. Monaghan after a mini -bus was stolen at Dublin airport with three passengers on board. The vehicle was driven to the M1 shortly before 1am yesterday (Wed) morning. The passengers were allowed to leave the bus unharmed a short time later near Julianstown. The bus continued up the M1, where it is believed it rammed a Garda patrol car before it crossed the border.

The PSNI were alerted and the bus was later found in a car-park in Crossmaglen. A Police car was rammed before the bus travelled back across the border into County Monaghan. It is understood the bus travelled along the N2 before a Garda Armed Support Unit vehicle was rammed. The bus was discovered crashed by Gardaí a short time later after the two occupants had stolen a parked car. They were then intercepted by armed gardai near Castleblayney.The two men in their 30s were arrested and were being held at Carrickmacross garda station.

The drama took place between 1am and 2am yesterday morning and also involved the use of a Garda helicopter.
