64TH ANNIVERSARY OF BROOKEBOROUGH RAID TO BE COMMEMORATED

This Saturday the annual 1916 societies commemoration marking the 64 anniversary of the IRA’s Brookeborough RUC Station raid will take place at Altawalk cross situational between Brookeborough and Roslea. Hosted by the Matt Fitzpatrick 1916 Society Newtownbutler the commemoration takes place at 2.00pm and guest speaker this year will be Pól Ó Scanaill from Meath. The Brookeborough raid was part of the IRA border campaign that took place from 1956 to 1963 when the IRA mounted attacks on police and military installations….
