It was a case of ‘two out of three ain’t bad’ for Monaghan’s representatives in the AIB Ulster Club Football Championships last weekend. Blackhill’s win in the junior decider set the tone and stretched Monaghan clubs’ winning run in the 2019 series to five games in all, before Clontibret and Magheracloone experienced mixed fortunes in their semifinal ties.

Monaghan’s wait for a first Ulster Club SFC title since 1991 goes on after Naomh Cónaill continued Donegal teams’ resurgent record in the competition by grinding out a narrow win in Omagh on Saturday.
