The evenings are getting shorter, the air is getting cooler and the warm glow of Christmas is nearly upon us… so wrap up warm and come to Monaghan Town for the big Christmas Lights Switch-On on Sunday November 24. Santa Claus will be taking time out from his busy workshop to visit Monaghan this Sunday with Rudolf the Reindeer and lots of festive friends. It’s time to get your letters written and get them posted in Santa’s Post Box when you visit the Grotto.

Santa’s grotto will be available for all the kids in Church Square and there will be a special Christmas Post Box to ensure safe delivery of all those Christmas letters via the Polar Express. It promises to a fun filled day for all the family with lots of free activities including face painting, bouncing castles, Santa’s Sleigh, a Reindeer, a giant 50-foot inflatable Santa, a carousel, carol singing, DJ disco roadshow and some of your favourite cartoon characters mingling with all the visitors. Amusements start at 3 pm and live performances will begin at 4 pm.
