Donaghmoyne secured their place in the senior ranks for 2020 when they ran out convincing winners in last Sunday’s IFL Final against Monaghan Harps in Drumhowan. Donaghmoyne led from start to finish as they put defeats in this fixture last year and in this year’s IFC decider behind them to claim the Vincent McAviney Cup for the first time since 2014. The final scoreline told little of how the game went, with the Harps enjoying far more possession than their meagre return on the scoreboard would suggest. The countytown team’s failure to turn possession into scores was the story of the game, with a much more clinical Donaghmoyne side finding the net three times en route to a big win.
