DEATH THREATS DISCUSSED AS QUINN CHIEF EXECUTIVE MEETS WITH GARDA COMMISSIONER IN MONAGHAN

The Chief Executive of Quinn Industrial Holdings and other senior personnel from the company held a 90-minute meeting with Garda Commissioner Drew Harris at Monaghan Garda Station on Tuesday afternoon. The QIH personnel and the Commissioner discussed the progress of the Garda investigation into the abduction and serious assault of company director Kevin Lunney last month. Death threats received by other directors were also discussed. Both the Gardaí and the PSNI are currently conducting intensive inquiries into the ongoing campaign of intimidation, including death threats, targeting the QIH directors.

Speaking to a large gathering of national media personnel following the Monaghan meeting, QIH Chief Executive Liam McCaffrey said his management colleagues and himself were satisfied with the outcome, and thanked Commissioner Harris as the most senior Garda office in the country for facilitating the meeting and providing an update on the Garda investigation. Mr McCaffrey also welcomed the fact that what he termed “intimidatory signs” which had been erected along the roadway to the QIH premises in Derrylin, Enniskillen had been taken down in the last week.
