The ‘five-in-a-row’ narrative has been omnipresent in Gaelic football of late, but Clontibret ended Scotstown’s ‘drive for five’ in some style in last Sunday’s Greenfield Foods Senior Football Championship Final. Scotstown made their second trip to Clones in just over a week as favourites to retain the title, but their bid for history was unravelled by a complete performance from Clontibret. There was a ‘smash and grab’ element to Clontibret’s last county final win over Scotstown back in 2014 – the Blues’ most recent previous knock-out defeat in the Monaghan SFC – but this was a polar opposite, with John McEntee’s side looking comfortable …
