JPC HEARS CALLS FOR ADVANCEMENT OF ‘BLAYNEY AND CARRICK CCTV SCHEMES

Calls were made at last Friday’s inaugural meeting of the Co Monaghan Joint Policing Committee for the advancement of the delivery of CCTV crime detection and deterrent systems for the towns of Castleblayney and Carrickmacross. Progress was also sought on the CCTV scheme for Monaghan Town, with members welcoming the fact that data protection issues which had delayed the delivery of CCTV projects nationally now seemed to have been resolved.

Co-ordinator Cathal Flynn said that the provision of a CCTV scheme had been agreed by the former Castleblayney Town Council over ten years ago and was also a project that had been pursued by the former Joint Policing Committee in the town.
