Sinn Féin member of Monaghan Co Council Brian McKenna was elected Chairperson of the Co Monaghan Joint Policing Committee at the inaugural meeting of its new five-year term, held at the M-TEK I building at Knockaconny, Monaghan last Friday morning. The first assembly of the new JPC heard an overview of the body’s purpose and functions from Administrative Officer Carol Lambe of Monaghan Co Council’s Community and Enterprise section, who spoke of the committee’s consultative and guidance role on policing matters.
