CARRICK HOTEL TO OFFER EMERGENCY ACCOMMODATION TO ASYLUM SEEKERS, PARENT COMPANY CONFIRMS

On Tuesday afternoon, The Northern Standard received confirmation from Mr. John Treacy (one of the directors of Timber Toes Ltd. who own three hotels in the Treacy group), that Treacy’s Hotel Monaghan, with an address at Lossetts, Carrickmacross, would offer emergency accommodation to asylum seekers as per a verbal agreement with local businessman Seamus ‘Banty’ McEnaney, adding that there was no direct line to the Department of Justice. Separately, Mr. McEnaney was approached by this newspaper to do an interview on Monday, but the hospitality entrepreneur politely declined at this juncture.
